1 in 300 children and their families face a new challenge to climb every year
and every one of those children and families embrace that challenge. In 1950
only 10% made it to the top but by the mid 90's 75% made it to the top. Climb
For The Cure is about helping 100% of those kids get to the top of their
challenge. Sometimes its scary and hard, but if the kids can do it anyone can.
They inspire us and lead us to the top.
This is Michael Endrizzi, I am the organizer of Climb For A Cure. I was told
about a child that had leukemia. His treatments left his skin in a sad state
that required full body bandages that had to be changed periodically. His only
request was that they put on Aerosmith so he could loudly sing while they
painfully changed his bandages. Other than that he was the perfect loving happy
child.
Unfortunately I never knew this child his family or his name but for some
reason the story stirred something in my soul. These kids take on challenges
every day that are my worst nightmares. They take it on with a smile and love. I
could never be their equals in life.
The best I could do is try and make sure they all make it to the top of their
climbs. That's why I started Climb For A Cure. If these kids can climb the
mountains that are my nightmare, I figured the rest of us could help them by
climbing walls that are totally safe but still provide a window into the scary
side that is only 1% of the unknown that these kids face. If they can do it with
a smile, so can we. Can't WE!!!!!
Join me and my friends and helping these kids make it to the top. Climb
