Children's Cancer Research Fund (CCRF) is holding this special event for those would like to be challenged personally and vertically to climb for a good cause. Why climbing? We ask the participants to think about the challenge each child and family faces when they enter a treatment program. It is a very difficult period for these families but yet they accept the challenge and don't back down because it means believing in yourself and hope for the future. Climbing can be challenging but when you get to the top of something that once seemed impossible you too will believe yourself and see the hope in the future.

One out of 300 children in the United States develops cancer before age 20.

Before 1950, the five-year survival rate was 10%. By the mid-1990's, the five-year survival rate was 75%. Today, eight out of 10 children diagnosed with cancer can successfully be treated.

Climbing For The Cure will take place in a safe, family-orientated facility at Vertical Endeavors that caters to groups ages 4-70. Each participant is asked to gather sponsors whom challenge the climber to reach the top of 5 climbs. It really doesn't matter how high you go, just the fact that you challenged yourself for a good cause is what really matters.

Since 1980, Children's Cancer Research Fund has raised more than $43 million, averaging 20% growth per year over the past six years in the dollars given to cancer research.

People that have never climbed before will be directed to 5 routes that are about as difficult as climbing tall ladders, with one or two routes a bit more difficult. These routes can be climbed by children and adults ages 8-60. If you can climb a tall ladder, you will be should be able to complete these climbs. You will be tied into a rope at all times, given the proper equipment, and assisted by an experienced climber.

Experienced climbers will be asked to climb 5 routes that they never climbed before that they feel will personally challenge them. Once again it doesn't matter if you reach the top, just that you challenged yourself for a good cause.

Registration for this event is $25 for adults and $12.50 for children under 14 and includes snacks, refreshments, equipment, T-shirt, experienced personnel attending to your five climbs, parking, and a day pass to Vertical Endeavors. For sponsorships we ask that a minimum of $1/route or $5 total assuming you at least try every route. Obviously anything more than $1/route would greatly benefit the kids.
